Lisa Buchmiller
Founder

Lisa Buchmiller began dancing at an early age at Tri-Cities Academy of Ballet and Music in Richland, WA. Classically trained in ballet, tap, and jazz, she performed with Mid-Columbia Ballet under the artistic direction of Debra Pearse Rogo. In college, Lisa discovered her true passion: teaching movement and dance. Lisa is the co-creator of The Ellové Technique®, and has been teaching group exercise and training clients for over 20 years. She’s been a certified personal trainer since 2003 (ACE), Mind/Body Specialist (2014) and Orthopedic Exercise Specialist (2017). Lisa is also a certified yoga instructor (YogaFit levels 1-3, Anusara 200-hour), and a certified STOTT PILATES® Instructor ( Matwork and Reformer- Level 1). She is currently working on her full STOTT PILATES® certification at Pacific Northwest Pilates. Lisa was the Yoga Supervisor at Multnomah Athletic Club for over ten years and is now the Studio and Programming Coordinator for Fitness and Wellness. When working with clients individually or teaching a class, Lisa combines her expertise in many different disciplines to help students prevent injury and find synergy in their bodies.  Lisa resides in Portland, OR and currently teaches at Pacific Northwest Pilates, Multnomah Athletic Club, Nike World Headquarters, and The Portland Ballet.  She also serves on the board for Oregon Dance Education Organization.

Erin Zintek
Founder

Erin Zintek  is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she started her training under Kellie Plathe from Accent On Dance. Erin graduated from the University of Iowa with a BFA in dance. Pre-professionally and professionally, Erin has danced with Charlotte Adams and Dancers, David Dorfman and Dancers, Poetic Rebound Co., Bill Young, and Jim McGinn with Top Shake Dance. During the summer of 2008, she traveled to Brazil to study capoeira and dance with the company Balé Folclórico.  Besides teaching dance, Erin is a certified Pilates instructor,  certified yoga instructor, and is the co-creator of The Ellové Technique®. While living in Oregon, Erin taught at studios all over the Pacific Northwest including BodyVox, Nike World Headquarters, and The Portland Ballet. She was also Head Coach at Multnomah Athletic Club for the pre-professional dance company and served on the executive board for Oregon Dance Education Organization. In August 2019, Erin moved back to Wisconsin to head up the Ellové Midwest Office, and has taught Ellové workshops and master classes in the areas of Madison, Milwaukee, and Fox Cities. She is on the executive board for Wisconsin Dance Council, and most recently taught Ellové at the Wisconsin Dance Council conference and Dance Masters of Wisconsin, attended Studio Owner University, and was a speaker for the National Dance Coaches Association. She currently teaches at a local Pilates studio, takes in-home clients, and teaches weekly virtual Ellové classes. Besides running around with her 3-year-old daughter, Erin stays active by serving her community in many different venues.

Laura Haney
Master Instructor, Business Mgr.

Laura Haney is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Pilates, BeMoved®, and The Ellové Technique® instructor. She grew up in Colorado Springs, CO, and attended Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick, MA, where she studied dance and music. She was a company member of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, River North Dance Company, and BodyVox. Laura was also a featured performer in the First National Tour of Fosse and a cast member of the Broadway musical A Christmas Carol at Madison Square Garden, in addition to commercial/industrial, freelance, and cruise ship work. Laura has been teaching for over 20 years, was director of the dance program and student company at Multnomah Athletic Club in Portland, OR, and has presented for numerous events across the country. Laura is passionate about wellness and injury risk reduction for dancers and is a member of the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science. She was team leader of the Portland chapter of The Bridge Dance Project and has co-taught injury risk reduction workshops with Amy Werner, DPT. Laura currently lives and teaches in New York State.

Amy Werner, DPT
Contributing Physical Therapist

Amy Werner is the contributing physical therapist to The Ellové Technique®. She has extensive training in dance medicine with over a decade of experience working with dancers of all ages and dance styles. Her background as a dancer, since age three, and university dance science major uniquely qualifies her to address every patient with a dancer's eye for detail of movement. Amy's approach emphasizes a whole-body perspective to patient recovery and her zeal for healthy movement fuels her practice. She values one-on-one treatment with the goal of educating her patients to independently manage their own symptoms. Outside the clinic you will find Amy either dreaming of the wilderness, or quilting, or both. She enjoys spending time on Mt. Hood: hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. If she can't get up to the mountain, she is an active member of the Portland Modern Quilt Guild attending several events per month.
